ABOUT

Changes to pricing, please read below:

Welcome to “Ashford stables" . This two bedroomed guesthouse is set on private grounds surrounded by green fields and a few sheep!

Recently upgraded for added comfort this is the perfect setting for a quiet getaway or walking holiday. Ashford is on the cusp of all that the garden of Ireland has to offer whether it be the renowned Avoca at Usher Gardens, Powerscourt Walk and Waterfall or indeed the idyllic hinterland that attracts so many every year.

The cottage itself has ample room for couples or a group of up to 4 people with a downstairs shower room and a bath / shower facility upstairs.

Enjoy a spacious kitchen to connect with friends or to treat yourself after a long days hike in this beautiful countryside of ours! The living room has a cozy wood burning stove that comes fully stocked to make sure you have a warm glow on those cooler evenings, along with new fibre broadband which is perfect for streaming tv and movies

There are also a host of activities in the area that you might want to explore. These range from clay pigeon shooting to kayaking. We can send you a list if you wish.

Important update to pricing:

Due to the sharp increases in electricity, heating and other running costs, as well as attempting to be more green, Ashford stables has decided to do a small experiment. Instead of increasing our prices we have instead opted to reduce them. We feel that although the world seems to be in constant turmoil these days we think that everyone should be able to take a break this spring / summer  (especially from their own energy bills!). What’s the catch? In order for this experiment to have a positive outcome we would request that guests do just 2 things:

1) Ensure that the lights are off and that the hot water / heating are on a timer (or not constantly on) if you plan on being out and about exploring Wicklow for the day.

2) Refrain from using bronzing lotions, tinted moisturisers or similar. This may seem like an odd request but these products often cannot be removed without expensive dry cleaning and as a result usually have to be discarded (unfortunately). We’re hoping that with these changes we will be able to keep our prices lower while reducing waste.
